Presentation

BH International Short Film Festival was created in 1994, at Clóvis Salgado Foundation, appearing in the city’s artistic scene with the purpose to make available to general audiences a rarely used format with acknowledged creative, technical and formal potential.  During its thirteen editions, the festival sought to extend the work of its main venue, Humberto Mauro Cinema, a screening facility renowned for its quality programs for over thirty years of activities. Located at Belo Horizonte biggest cultural complex, Palácio das Artes, Humberto Mauro Cinema remains the primary meeting place for cinephiles from all over town.

Known for articulating films with diverse artistic aspirations, BH International Short Film Festival has always been guided by the quality, precision and innovation of the presented work, instead of previously made choices of any kind. The festival main goal is to propagate Brazilian and international short film production and to promote critical reflection and debates regarding the screened films.
